About Me

This page will be under construction for a bit and I’m sure I will edit it here and there so please feel free to stop by once in awhile.

I’m going to start this out like I’m sure most people start their about pages.  There is a lot about me some good and some bad.  Just recently beginning to have more good than bad.  It feels good to smile again and not feel strange to have joy in my life.

Okay back to how possibly most people start.  I am a 53 year old Christian Women.  I have two boys one who will be 31 years old November 2nd.  He just recently got married in HI (hence the cover picture for my blog) He has a beautiful wife and she has three amazing kids.  The best way to become a Grandparent is through inheritance.  Still waiting for the baby to arrive so get busy kids!  Tee Hee Hee.  My younger son will be 26 in February.  He has Down Syndrome and is Autistic as well.  He is amazing!  I have been married to my husband for 26 years in June. My husband is also amazing!  He works very hard to provide for all of us and to make sure we have all the nice things life can offer.  We are not rich by any stretch of the imagination yet as my Hubby says, “We have enough money to buy and Ice Cream Cone when we want to have one!”  I love my family!

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 7 or 8 years ago.  I was lucky to have a Doctor who knew to send me to a Rheumatologist early on.  This helped me to get diagnosed quickly.  It definitely was a blessing.  When I was diagnosed there were still way too many Doctors who did not believe it even existed.  So if you could imagine your body producing all these pain signals as well as your nerves firing off the skin pain you get when you are getting the flu, and someone telling you it was all in your head, or that you would just have to deal with this pain that really was off the pain scale with no pain meds, or any help other than Bio-Feedback.  Nothing wrong with Bio-Feedback just doesn’t work for Fibromyalgia. At least for me.

Exercising, eating right, and dealing with my stress better has been the best cure.  Also, getting on a good routine of medication has helped me so much to return to a fairly normal life.  Active and productive.  I have limits and it takes a while to learn them yet I think I’m doing well.  God has blessed me so much in many ways.  I think that also having a very active Spiritual Life is also been extremely helpful. I must say that I will mention God in my posts.  Not all of them yet the ones that are pertinent.  I’m not here to save the whole blogging community so don’t worry(only God can do that anyway).

If you have any negative comments to leave that’s okay.  The bad comes with the good.  I must warn you though they will not get approved to be posted.  I’m sure you understand as well that I want this site to be a safe place for healing.  For the Journey of healing to be able to happen.  I want it to be a positive place where people can feel affirmed and to feel they can share and not be criticized for it.  In reply truth will be spoken when it needs to be yet never ever in a way to be hurtful, mean, or even passive aggressive.  We all need to learn to speak truth in Love. I hope you will feel comfortable here and be able to see yourself in some of my experiences or at least be able to relate on some level.

God has a plan for us all.  He wants what’s best for you.  There is a reason why you were given the body you have.  He does promise to turn all things for good.  Me sharing with you here is part of the good.  That never means that there wont be any bad.  Us as humans want to think that, yet we learn more from bad experiences in our life.  Whether just a little bad or a lot bad.  For some reason some of the bigger lessons only seen to stick when the lesson is bad.  This is part of the human condition.  Some things I can learn by watching you go through it yet not very many.

Let’s face it this life is rough.  We can face it with a smile on our face whenever possible and learn to love life and try to get to the bottom of things as fast as we can so we can be over it already… and move forward.

Let’s share our experiences our strengths and our hopes with each other with the intention to help each other.

I’m up for the challenge how ’bout you? Let’s learn to live outside the label “Fibromyalgia”!
